Purchase with a Purpose

At a Fair Trade Federation conference several years ago I was introduced to the work of BBMG, a self-described "branding firm" that believes it has an obligation to make the world a better place.  The FTF workshop by founding partner, Raphael Bemporad, came just at the right time for me, as I was beginning to explore more carefully the role of marketing and branding in the not-for-profit sector.  Since then I have made a point of following BBMG's research on conscious consumption and have been impressed by their innovative approaches to brand development and consumer engagement.  One of the BBMG's initiatives is The Collective, a web-based community dedicated to connecting consumers with brands that are in the business of changing business.

This month, I'm a guest blogger at the Collective.  Head on over to read and comment on the fair trade challenge.
